The U-19 basketball team have had mixed fortunes during this first term. Their first match was against Colaiste an Phiarsaigh in the All Ireland Schools Cup . Despite a good performance the Cork team were better on the day and the ASR students came out second best.

However things got better after that. In the southwest region of the schools league, games were played against C.B.S. Sexton Street , St. Patricks Shannon and Colaiste Chiarain in Croom. Having won two of their games, their progress to the playoffs will be determined by the result of the match between the other two schools. It would appear at the time of writing, that it is all down to points for versus point against in their three matches. We will hope for the best.

The first year Basketball panel are making great progress in their training. They are coached twice a week after school with their coach Tommy Hehir and they can look forward to some good results in their games during the Easter term.

It has been confirmed that the Ardscoil U-19 team has won the S.W. region. And will now go through to the play offs in 2 nd term. Well done to the team and their coach.
