The aims of Environmental Group are to encourage the students to respect the environment and become more aware of the environmental issues in the world. The Environmental Group is going to raise the awareness of students in this school. The school has also registered for the green school flag and is hoping one of the few city schools to receive this prestigious award at the end of this year.

The Environmental Group has two main sub-sections, tidy classrooms and recycling.

The Tidy Classroom Group aims to set up a competition involving the first, second and third years. This competition is designed to make students more aware of the littering problem in the school and elsewhere. Points are allocated by judges with regards to the cleanliness of the classrooms.

The Recycling Group is in charge of recycling in the school. They are responsible for organising compost heaps, recycling bins for separating rubbish and introducing battery-recycling facilities in the school. They also consider ways to reduce our waste going into our bins each week. The Recycling Committee consists of the following members. Raising awareness in recycling is one of the main aims of the Environmental Committee.
