On the 9 th October, the choir made their debut of the academic year by singing for the open-night. The choir gave an excellent rendition of Paddy Casey's “Saints and Sinners” and Paul Brady's “The Island ”. From there, we were invited by the Parents Council to perform at `A Taste of Christmas' which was held on the 28 th November. This evening was a great success and the choir outshone themselves with solo performances from Michael Carroll singing Fairytale of New York to our youngest performer Bernard 0'Hanlon singing the endless classic “Walking in the Air”.

As a result of the choirs success at `A Taste of Christmas' , we were cordially invited by the Radisson to sing for two nights to welcome guests as they arrive for their Christmas parties. This highlighted the level of musical talent that is in Ardscoil Rís to the public.

Like previous years, both Junior and Senior masses are the highlight of the year for the choir. This is a great opportunity to display the talent of the choir to the staff and students. The vocal soloists were Eoghan Dillon (TY.), Michael Carroll (5th year), Bernard O'Hanlon (5tYear) and Shane Ryan (6th Year). The instrumental soloists were David Collins (5th Year), Myles 0' Callaghan (5th Year), Padraig Synott (5thl Year) and CoIm Fitzgerald (5th1 Year). The other students involved in the choir are: Paul Bogan , Aaron Lally , Geoffrey Carmody , Patrick Mc Carthy , Daragh C. Cronin , Niall Mclnerney , Daniel Duffy , Andrew Murphy , Aaron Barriscale , Brian Tracey , Donal Burke , Jack Daly , Niall Carmody , Conor Casey , Kevin Keane , Ronan Liston , Ronan McMahon , Conor O'Brien , Peter Mclnerney , Lucas O'Brien , Conor Glin and Tony Cusack .

The 5th and 6th year music students went to hear the RTE National Symphony orchestra perform Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique (set work on the Leaving Certificate course). It was an amazing display of skill and dexterity by all musicians involved-great day had by all.
