The Ardscoil Rís U-14 Rugby Squad has been training twice a week since September and has shown immense commitment and spirit throughout a tong tough league campaign.

Over 40 players presented for training in September and we are delighted that the majority of these have stuck with the team throughout the league. The format of the competition afforded plenty of opportunities to all players training to show their skills and to stake a claim for a place on the starting league XV. Due to the competitive nature of the players, the coaches, much to their delight have been faced `with many tough selection decisions.

Under 14 Rugby Team 2007-2008

The season began with an unlucky away defeat to Rockwell College and in the successive matches PBC and CBC proved to be physically too strong for us and won out both games despite a valiant effort from Ardscoil. The highlight of the season to date however was our magnificent and comprehensive victory over Castletroy College in a friendly match midway through the season. Following this we suffered a narrow away defeat to Crescent Comprehensive due to a dubious referring decision that disallowed a Luke McGrath try.

Despite these disappointing results the team has been improving constantly throughout the season and we feel that this tough league campaign has been very good preparation for the up coming Cup outing in late January/early February.
